5 Ideas

1. Write about anxiety disorders and how they affect a person’s life, what treatments are available and what non-medical advice the individuals use to cope with their disease.
2. Drug abuse in college, story on students that use illegal substances in school. Perhaps a profile on one individual who has battled addiction in college and how it affected his college career in all aspects.
3. Homosexuality and religion. A story on Christian individuals that are also homosexual or transgender. How they deal with the two conflicting view points and how this has changed their beliefs.
4. Babies having babies; a look at the new cultural fad of teen pregnancies and how the media glamorizes this. Talk about shows like “16 and Pregnant,” “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” and discuss celebrity teen moms like Bristol Palin and Jamie Lynn Spears. Also interview individuals that are or were teen moms.
5. Abstinence, a story on individuals that choose abstinence and why. Perhaps a look at the reverse as well, the sexually active youth.

Beauty is truth, truth beauty. That is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know. I would love to live for the moment, I love spontaneity, but right now my life is at a stand still until I graduate. So, for now, i will settle with being completely absorbed in my work and when I have time, I will go on random adventures to keep me sane. I love outdoors; I hate being in the house when the sun is out and it is warm. I live for the silence of the woods and the sense of sublime when I look at the beauty of nature. I love trees and flowers, especially daisies and weeping willows. Writing is my passion, and It is the only thing that can get me out of a bad mood. That, and crying...most of the time my writing is accompanied by...crying. I am really too emotional for my own good, but I think I trained myself to be that way because my best works happen when I am completely depressed. I love music, especially alternative and classic rock and roll. The calm sound of Brandnew is one of the only things that can calm my hyper personality. I love finding new music, and I wish I had more time to do this. One of my favorite things is finding that song that describes exactly how you are feeling at that point in time, and then i play it over and over until i am sick of it. I also love to sing, and I sing all the time if I am comfortable around you. I am a senior at Millersville, and I am at that point where I do not have the time to be carefree, and I do not have the same friends I used to. Everyone changes in college, it is inevitable, and it is just not as easy for me to find lasting friendships, and people that I do not see right through, or that I can trust. School can get hard when you do not have someone that is there to lean on. When I need someone though, I can always talk to my boyfriend, Zach, who is currently living too far for me to see. He is the greatest guy ever, and I love him way too much. Every time i think about how much I love him, I remember this sappy song that I had to sing in choir. He is always there for me and will always make me feel better. I miss him always. One day I would love to do something to make a difference in someone else's life. I want to finish my degree in English, and help make the world a better place, even in the smallest way. I want to see the world, and experience everything so I can write something great.
